Even better is that the restaurant is located near the entrance of Wat Mahathat, the most iconic temple of the Ayutthaya Historical Park. For those reasons, I believe that Somtum Sukunya can be seen as one of the best restaurants near Ayutthaya Historical Park. When you do visit this local eatery, make sure to order at least one of the following highly recommended dishes:

Grilled Beef (150 THB), which is charcoal flavoured grilled beef served with a spicy dipping sauce. The quality of the beef is really good and you can expect the beef to be tender. Crispy Catfish Spicy Salad (100 THB), which is a papaya salad topped with crispy catfish that gives the whole salad extra crunch. Stir-Fried Chicken and Cashew Nuts (120 THB), which is nicely flavoured chicken cashew nut of which the chunks of chicken are coated in a crispy layer. And finally, the Tom Yum Going (120 THB), which is a clear version of the popular tom yum soup.
