Six Senses Hideaway
Six Senses Hideaway Yao Noi on Koh Yao Island is not your usual ‘Phuket Resort’, it is a destination in itself.
Six Senses Hideaway Yao Noi
Specially designed for romantic couples in search of an escape from the stress of the big city, this is a perfect hideaway to spend a few days before moving to the fun of Phuket Island…
Set on a nearby remote island not really far from Phuket Island and being in a bay, you won’t get through rough seas to reach it even during low season. The resort organizes a full pick up process from the Phuket International Airport to the pier, then 45 minutes by private speedboat to the hotel, but it doesn’t come free of course (around 4,500 Baht).
Koh Yao island is not known for any amazing features but from the hotel, the views on the famous limestone rocks of Phang Nga are just breathtaking. The resort has the typical ‘Evason’ signature, an intelligent ‘luxury design’ made of basic materials such as wood, bamboo and thatched roofs with hundred of small interesting designs to admire all over the property.
Rooms also reflect their well known ‘earth-friendly mind in every single detail, from the light shades to the bathroom amenities, but behind these, you will find all the high tech features you can expect from such luxury resorts. Villas are spacey and originally designed, with of course your own swimming pool and outdoor showers. The relaxing areas are large and very comfortable to read, work or just chat, and you could easily spend the whole day in your villa without feeling the need to move out.
But then you would miss the beautiful restaurant designed with a really unique atmosphere and view. After sunset with the intimate lighting and the way sitting areas are embedded in the ponds, you really get the best view on the nearby islands… just this moment worth the stay. The resort has two other restaurants and a deli to treat yourself during the day.
The beach is not very large but accommodates well the few courageous guests that decided to step out of their private villas to try sailing and kayaking. Feel like seeing the outside world? Borrow one of the complimentary bicycles and explore the island with its rice fields and rubber plantations. Koh Yao is still a remote island and has nothing to compare with Phuket of course. The resort is also a good start point to discover the incredible Phang Nga Bay… you just can’t be this close and not see it for yourself.
The Evason Spa Village, the highlight of any Evason resort, is also entirely made of wood and bamboo in a tropical garden and offers the usual full range of treatments you can dream of.
As said earlier, I would recommend this resort as a part of your holiday: once you have recharged your batteries, move to Phuket island and find out what the fuss about Phuket is about. A great way to enjoy both sides of your tropical holidays!
