Jadjan Restaurant in Phuket Town
Jadjan is a local Thai restaurant hidden on the outskirt of Phuket Town, and not many travellers know that a former chef from a 5-star hotel in Bangkok runs it.
A Michelin Restaurant in Phuket Town
If you are familiar with Thai food, you will appreciate the unique flavours of the southern food prepared at Jadjan, which has a deeper taste than usual. The dishes are so good that Jadjan received a Michelin Plate from the Michelin Guide for Phuket.
Chef Suthee is a friendly person who will be happy to help you with the menu, especially with the specials of the day on the blackboard. We tried the recommended Gaeng Poo Bai Chaploo (crab meat curry with betel leaves – 300 baht), Pla Tod Kratiam (fried fish with garlic – 140 baht), and for vegetable Pad Pak Boong Moo Grob (morning glory with crispy deep-fried pork belly – 140 baht). And indeed the food was genuinely delicious and had a more uniquely intense and rounder taste than we even anticipated.
The restaurant is in a very modest-looking shophouse on the road leading to Cape Panwa, and unless you heard about it, you might easily miss it. And as it is not in the middle on old Phuket Town, Jadjan is a place you need to drive to, but if like us you are a true Thai food lover, you will not regret it.
