Hua Hin Travel by Train
The train is a classic, safer and comfortable method to travel to Hua Hin from Bangkok and the other way around.
Trains run from Hua Lum Pong Railway Station (main Railway station in Bangkok) to the beautiful historic Hua Hin railway station. Both stations can be reached easily.
There are three classes of accommodation - 1st, 2nd and 3rd. The 1st class sleeper compartments are air conditioned and for two people.
There is a wash basin and a cold water shower in the carriage's toilet. Food and drink can be ordered and brought to these compartments. The 2nd class accommodation comes in a variety of formats. Sleepers with bunk beds. The arrangement is open-plan and the carriages are either with fan or air conditioned.
Finally, the 3rd class carriages come with either padded or wooden benches which are surprising clean and comfortable for short journeys.
Train tickets can be reserved 90 days in advance either in person at any railway station of Thailand or online.
Online reservations cost 200 THB extra, which is levied at the railway station, where you go to collect the tickets. Travel by train is an experience not to be missed. Enjoy it while it lasts, before Thailand gets its own sterile high-speed rail system.
