A family resort on Bangtao Beach

With more than 300 rooms, lofts and suites, the hotel is immense, and most of the bedrooms offer lake or pool views. There is beach access at the front but no rooms with beach views. The resort will please travellers who plan to spend most of their time on the beach and the neighbourhood, with many facilities and outlets within the hotel. With a large Kid’s Club and dedicated pools, it will please families and kids a lot.



The hotel used to be a Sheraton in the past and lost a bit of its shine. It is immense and built on three floors. It is a little intimidating at first and takes a bit of time to orientate, but you will soon get used to the geography. There is quite a distance between the reception and the beach, and you can walk through the garden or in case of rain, use the long covered path that runs all the way.

The Rooms

There are eight room types to choose from the 371 rooms available, and we booked a superior room with a lagoon view. The bedroom is large and very comfortable, with a big desk with plenty of plugs, and a convenient working station. You can also relax or even work on your oversized L-shaped sofa with TV, or your balcony with a partial lagoon view. The bathroom is large and comes with a big squarish bathtub that takes a long time to fill, plus all the amenities you can expect from a 5-star resort.



Apart from the two free bottles of water, the minibar is empty, so you will have to get your supply at the next 7-11. There are a water boiler and an espresso machine with four capsules (two coffee and two decafs)

Restaurants and Dining

On a regular time, there are three main restaurants for guests to take their meals. As the hotel is a little far from the city centre, there is a high chance you will eat at one of these.

Market Place is all-day dining, where you will probably enjoy all your breakfast.
Baan Talay is a Thai restaurant in a beautiful Thai house by the beach.
Bodega is an Italian and Steakhouse.
Xana Beach Club is the most attractive part of the hotel.

Note that guests are welcome to use the shuttle boat to enjoy any of the restaurants in any of the hotels of the Phuket Laguna Complex.

The Beach

As you can expect, the beach of Bang Tao is the most attractive feature of the hotel. The sand is soft and pale, the water warm all year round and blue during high season. The hotel provides sofas and loungers with umbrellas to the guests.

Angsana Spa

The Angsana Spa is an award-winning spa with such a vast list of massages, facials, pedicures, manicures and signature treatments; it can be a little intimidating to select the right one. Friendly and helpful therapists will be delighted to advise and assist you.

Xana Beach Club

Xana Beach Club is the highlight of the hotel. The club is open from 11 am to 10 pm, and guests can enjoy oversized sofas placed on the sand, plus a large pool built on the beach. The beach club serves a long list of food and drinks all day: hamburgers, tapas, tacos, sandwiches, wraps and Thai food.

Kids Club

The kids club is large, colourful and well equipped with toys, games, sliders and playgrounds to keep the little ones busy whenever they feel like playing.
