Turtle Village Phuket
Turtle Village is a large shopping and dining complex in Mai Khao, on the northwest coast of Phuket.
Located right next to Marriott’s Mai Khao Beach and Anantara Vacation Club Mai Khao, it offers you a pleasant and modern place to hang out throughout your stay.
The 2-storey complex is built around a central plaza, with a fountain made of 3 stone turtles stacked top of each other. Turtle Village’s shops and restaurants are quite upmarket, appealing mainly to guests of 5-star beach resorts.
Turtle Village shopping highlights
Fashionwear, souvenirs, antiques, spa products, and jewels are some of the items available in complex's 15 or so stores. Famous brands – Jim Thompson, for instance – and lesser-known labels such as Dosh or PK Northern Export can be found at Turtle Village.
The basement level has a supermarket that stocks imported food items, fresh produce, and household items. Turtle Village also has 2 currency exchange booths and several ATMs.
It's convenient to have this shopping complex in such a secluded part of Phuket, but prices are on the high side compared to similar goods elsewhere on the island.
Turtle Village dining highlights
Turtle Village hosts a few cool dining venues, each of which has its own specialities. The long-established Bill Bentley Pub attracts pub-grub aficionados and those interested in watching broadcasted sports.
The Coffee Club serves a good choice of Thai and international cuisine throughout the day. Popular ice cream chain, Swensen’s offers iced cakes and sorbets.
Good to know about Turtle Village in Phuket
Turtle Village is Mai Khao's only shopping complex of its kind that's within a walking distance (or short buggy ride) from resorts dotting this tranquil area of Phuket. A downside of Turtle Village is the presence of touts, who often approach you to buy timeshare or villas located in the area. Their insistence can be annoying, so try to avoid them.
