Malakor

Located a bit further north of Somtum Sukunya and Burinda, you will find Malakor.

Malakor is a small restaurant made of wood, which gives it a unique local atmosphere. With the Ayutthaya Historical Park on the opposite side of the road, the wooden structure gives the restaurant somewhat of a remote feeling. But it’s not only the atmosphere what makes this restaurant so recommended. The food they serve at Malakor is more traditional and somewhat unusual of what you are used too. The dishes are creative, packed with flavour and some of them even we had never heard off.

The following dishes are highly recommended: Yum Ma Kuae Pao (80 THB), which is a spicy salad with fragrant herbs and char-grilled eggplant with minced pork. This is our favourite dish we tried at Malakor. Another highly recommended dish is the Kaeng Kua Moo Yang Bai Makhan Oon (145 THB), which is a creamy pork curry with tamarind leaves and plenty of chillies. Other recommendations are the Moo Pad Gapi Ta Klai Bai Ma Kood (90 THB) and the Kao Pad Sabparod (110 THB). For a more detailed review, check out our article about Malakor in Ayutthaya.
