Icon Siam Mall in Bangkok

Shopping Mall in Bangkok Riverside

Icon Siam Mall is called the "Mother of All Malls", with 500 shops and 100 restaurants from more than 30 different countries. Developed by the same tycoons behind Siam Paragon and EmQuartier, Icon Siam offers high-end brands, an indoor floating market, an art gallery, exhibition space, and a beautiful riverside location with views of downtown Bangkok.

Located on the Thonburi side of the Chao Phraya River, you can reach Icon Siam by taking the BTS to Saphan Taksin Station and heading to the pier, where you can hop on a free river shuttle. You can also go to Krung Thon Buri Station and take a free shuttle bus (the slightly faster, but far less impressive way to reach Icon Siam). Both options drop you off in front of the mall.

Icon Siam Mall highlights

Icon Siam offers 6 floors of shopping. Fashion brands take up the first 3 floors, with a nice mix of casual brands like H&M and Uniqlo, as well as Thai designer outlets and international haute couture. For high-end fashion, head to the Icon Luxe section on level 1, which contains exclusive boutiques from the likes of Hermes, Dior and Louis Vuitton.

For most people, the 2 most interesting shopping options are the Takashimaya department store from Japan and the Apple store from the US. Both are nationally exclusive to Icon Siam. Takashimaya has brought many Japanese labels to Bangkok for the 1st time, along with some tasty food offerings. The glass-fronted Apple store is cool and spacious, with a huge outdoor section offering sweeping views of downtown Bangkok. As you head up, you'll find sections dedicated to children, homeware, technology, banking, and leisure.

Don't miss Siam Sook, the ground-floor floating market, which has impressive features such as temples, long-tail boats, and Thai pavilions. You can enjoy traditional Thai snacks, shop for regional handicrafts and generally get the floating market experience without leaving the mall. There are also Thai cultural performances and massage parlours.

What to eat at Icon Siam Mall in Bangkok

Whether you’re looking for a quick snack or a gourmet meal, Icon Siam’s impressive range of restaurants has you covered. Among the favourites are the excellent Thai seafood dishes served at Taling Pling, Nuerkoo's famous beef noodles, and delectable cakes at Coffee Beans by Dao.

For drinks and bar snacks with a view, head up to HOBs beer garden on the 6th floor. It's open-air but undercover, together with a constant river breeze to keep you cool. It's open till late so it's a good spot to relax into the evening. For something swankier, choose the neighbouring Tasana Nakorn Terrace Bar. The top floor of Icon Siam is an impressive museum with several rooms of Thai antiquities that you would otherwise only find in the museums in the Old Town.

The breezy riverside walkway is another feature that's put to good use at Icon Siam. Decorations are constantly updated to reflect the season, along with impressive water features entertaining the crowds. During large celebrations like Loy Krathong or New Year’s Eve, Icon Siam’s entertainment includes multimedia light shows that can be seen from several km away.
